this is strange. ahh not strange, my old entries have reappeared! i've been in such a holiday mood the last few days! yesterday it was wonderful gray and drizzly, and today it cleared up but there's still a great chill factor. i'm reading twelfth night right now which is really good and funny. my comp. pol. research paper is still unwritten but becoming more and more clear. i've been finding out all sorts of cool things for it about latin american revolutionaries, and even just reading a little of very recent guatemalan history makes me (re)realize that everything in hundred years of solitude is true. i can see how that book was so affective for people in latin america. i went and had coffee and apple cake in the cheese shop, a little specialty shop on the corner in swarthmoretown. it was nice to sit there and read my shakespeare and see all the real people (ie not students!) 30something couples buying cheese, little kids with their moms, older couples. the nice guy who worked there was sweeping as i left and he asked me about finals and what i wanted to do--i said something with dance--and it was good to hear a voice completely out of campus life. i've been really in the mood to see 'home for the holidays' that funny movie jodie foster directed a few years back with holly hunter and robert downey and gwen verdon eating fruit loops (for a second i couldn't think of the name of the cereal--i could only see a colorful parrot in my head). i think i'll email people and see if anyone wants to watch it on wednesday after my poli sci final is over (7-10 pm). i'll still have more work to do but i know i'll want a break then. tonight i'm studying with cynthia and i'll probably stop by the party at yale (my old house) to see people, drink milk with baileys (what a good holiday drink(-:) etc. i was thinking it would be fun to learn some instrument again with paula peach this summer--maybe guitar or wooden flute. i wonder if i could convince my parents to get a new pet over christmas---can i have a kitten under the christmas tree?
