i overslept!! (well, exactly slept is more accurate, right till 8 am on the dot) i almost went to my class but then decided it was too late to enter, so here i am in the library. i guess i'll go warmup by myself with a little ellington on the headphones to keep me company.
yesterday i found this park (foresthill park, with lots of little kids sunday evening on the playground) to lie and read in--white clouds and sunny when i got there at about 5 pm. i decided i wasn't going to react much to bugs flying around me/crawling on me. i watched several different ants crawling on my arms, making their ways over, under, around all the hairs, all the way across to my fingertips. they stop at the fingernails--go under the edge and wait, then move back a bit, then under the edge again. for awhile i thought maybe they couldn't crawl across nail surfaces, but they can, and eventually they did, over the tip of the finger and down the inside surface. some places i couldn't feel the ant crawling at all, i think mostly where there are very few hairs. on the arms though, their movements make a light tickly sensation. as i lay there, the sky darkened with deep gray clouds moving fast and turbulently. the wind got breezier, than came in big gusts shaking the trees. thunder far off to my left, getting louder as the wind increased. i kept still until the first drops fell, and then walked back to my car, just in time for the down pour to let loose on the windshield--about 6 pm (baby girl, you know you better watch out...lauryn hill sang).
i woke up in the middle of the night with that panicky feeling of having lots of bugs crawling over me and got up and took a shower.
