oww-a (as the poles say)!! i was choreographing this phrase involving rolling over my shoulder onto the floor and i seemed to have pulled or sprained the front muscle of my shoulder/sternum, the one that contracts when you reach across your body. i should really take anatomy at some point. Choreographing Community was actually pretty interesting today, although it bothers me how supercilious the teacher margot seems. she presents us with exercises rather than teaching or adding much of anything to the energy and dynamics of the class. but luckily today the exercises were interesting. we drew a picture of the postcard (that beach scene i described earlier) than used the picture as a floor pattern to connect these two phrases we each had from before and put them more into motion. then we had to describe to a partner what it was we were concentrating on while we worked. for me it was following/creating varying wind patterns, from small breezes to large gusts (although i hadn't articulated this wind motivation to myself as such while i was working.) the second time, with the same phrase, my concentration was on the tips of my body--fingers, toes, elbows, tail bone, top of head, tips of shoulders--the same thing--i realized i had been working on tips only after asked to articulate what it was i had been working on.
then, we did nonstop writing in two columns, one about a time/place/person that sustained you, and one relaying a fairytale. i wrote about lying on the stone wall around the courtyard outside tarble, looking up at the square made by the roofs and the bell tower, watching airplanes and birds fly in the sky clearing. i'm hungry and thirsty! (she exclaimed!!) i'm just going to try an experiment--- petunias petunias petunias petunias petunias petunias petunias petunias petunias petunias petunias
