this week has been all over the place and rather surreal, a prelude to having a real job i suppose--from pouring rain on monday to shorts and tanktops today, philly to dc on tuesday and back thursday morning, to doctor horowitz ('you've never met a doctor who runs on time i see' after i was 10 minutes late--i like him), to a japanese classical dance performance, tonight to a bengali cultural evening, tomorrow our very own fall dinner party. yesterday at 3 a.m. i laughed with cynthia till my stomach hurt about being rat queens, then dreamt about a whale who came up to the shore and seemed to be sensing or kissing my mom with the flowy material of its mouth that sifts plankton (aaron could help me here with his third grade knowledge of whales) but when the whale went back into the water mom seemed to have disappeared and the logical leap was that the whale had sucked her breath away. scary. okay, i better start driving to see cynthia. more to come...
