dad's comment reminded me about the funny nytimes headline today that went something like 'many rejoice to view pictures of arid plain.' just got home 1/2 hour ago, a strange and fascinating day turning on and off lights. i'd say more but i'm not allowed. on the qt. new years was a lovely time, only wish i could spend longer in the adirondacks. (oh, apparently there's a song that goes 'shoofly pie and apple pandowdy')
cynthia's doing kathak hands, wrist circles, giftgiving hands. she brought me/us an ikea italian coffee maker and wooden spatula, and her parent's old one cup espresso maker that really is from italy. walked home thinking about the comparative color symbolism of black&white and red&yellow, in warmish clear moon sky shiny water soaked asphalt evening, remembering the quiet of nearly empty of people land, one set of car headlights passing in an hour, the warm lights of one house (the one where i was headed) far off across a frozen pond, bigger than a pond, smaller than a lake. snow, gray light, following the fluctuation of emotions inside, clear walking forward, panic, paranoia, love, stillness
